Specifying the Windows or Windscreen for a vessel is a significant part of the design process. Not only do they form one of the main visual design elements of a project but their performance is critical to the overall function of the final product.
The structure must be strong to resist racking, flexing and shaking. Materials must be durable enough to stand up the harsh marine environment of sun and salt. There must be adequate optical clarity to be able to navigate.
Whether you are an OEM (original equipment manufacturer), building your own vessel or updating or refurbishing an existing vessel you are looking for the best solution. When it comes to quality Windows, Windshields and Windscreens you need look no further than Sandbrooks.
Beginning with small runabout windscreens in the ‘70s the company grew in size with the increase in water line length of boats and motor yachts built in New Zealand. As Sandbrook Windscreens we made windscreens, windows and doors for vessels the size of dingys to Super yachts, supplying all the major and minor OEMs in New Zealand.
When imported boats began to challenge the local manufacturers we became Sandbrook Glass Industries and began importing Taylor Made Systems toughened glass windshields. These market leading products, initially imported at the request of Haines Hunter, became standard equipment for premium boats.
We then entered into a partnership with Taylor Made Systems and became Sandbrook Taylor Made Systems and imported premium curved glass from Taylor Made Systems and built the windshields here in NZ, a process we continue to this day.
The company was briefly a subsidiary of Taylor Made Systems of NY and became Taylor Made Systems Pacific. The ownership has now come full circle and is now back in the hands of the original Sandbrook family. We continue to have strong ties with TMS and are their representative in New Zealand.
Today we offer you products fabricated from the best materials available and built by the most experienced personnel.
